Dress Ups and Costumes for Littlies, Middlies and Biggies Class
8Learn to sew dress up clothing in this fun and comprehensive class. Suitable for Book Week, Halloween, Dark Mofo, the classroom, or just the dress up box; create an exciting wardrobe of original costumes for kids or adults. Beginners welcome.
Week One: Cloaks and Capes. Learn to sew a cute, cotton cape, appliqued with your favourite design (superhero, unicorn, Jedi, Pokemon, rainbow....you decide) + a long, drapey cloak suitable for a vampire or witch. Learn to attach safety closures and bias binding.
Week Two: Fairy skirts and dresses - Working with tulle. Sew an easy multicoloured tulle skirt and make a fast tulle dress by retrofitting a singlet or t-shirt.
Week Three: Wings. Sew quilted bat and butterfly wings with a sturdy wire frame and elastic straps.
Week Four: Learn invaluable skills to make simple costumes by using your kids' clothes for pattern-making.
