Story:

Also known as the desert raisin because of its appearance when dried, these little dried “berries” have been a staple food of the Aboriginal desert dwellers for centuries. The Anmatyerr women would gather them after they had dried, reducing the levels of alkaloids. They would then grind them to a powder, mix with tree gums or resins and roll into a ball, then leave them out in the sun to dry. This preserved the fruits for future use. The bush tomato has a spicy piquant flavor.
