Where? Frangipani Fabrics, 313A Elizabeth Street, North Hobart.

Cost? $80.00 for an all-day class.

Tutor? Moira Bevan

Improv. Quilt Piecing - Lose your rulers and have some fun piecing improvised blocks!  That's right there is no pattern.  Using Moira's improv techniques you will be able to create unique quilt blocks that are one of a kind!

Skill level: sewists of any level can attend.

This class presents you with the opportunity to set aside your rulers and quilt outside the box.  Woohoo!

"Much as a painter would use a brush, improvisational piecing is a creative approach to generating a work of art without the rules imposed by a traditional quilt block." (quiltinspiration.blogspot.com)

You are encouraged to cut wonky and to sew wonky. We won’t be making up a specific item; instead you will leave the class with a number of samples of the various techniques, and with ideas of how to progress from here.

Using improvisational techniques and your creative ideas you will piece several ‘blocks’ - a 4 patch, 9 patch, and various applique shapes which look a lot harder than they actually are.

Enroll now and join us for this inspiring and fun class.

Morning and afternoon tea and continuous tea and coffee provided.
